Hi all,

I recently purchased a WRT54G and am running it with the latest
official linksys firmware.

I used to have a BEFXXX Wireless B router.

In my old router I was able to setup port forwarding with different
inbound and outbound ports, but I cannot for the life of me see how to
do this on the WRT54G.

For example

I can easily setup standard port mappings like for SSH

Internet -> PORT 22 ROUTER PORT 22 -> COMPUTER

But I want say to do:

Internet -> PORT 9212 ROUTER PORT 22 -> COMPUTER

How can I do this?

mj

Latest? Ok, I'll assume v5 hardware and 1.00.04 firmware. If you
have something else, kindly supply the real hardware and firmware
versions.

That would be a BEFW11S4 router. I have a v4 incantation.

Yep. Can't be done. See:
http://www.linksysdata.com/ui/WRT54G...ge-Forward.htm
No place to remap port numbers.

However, I just checked my WRT54G v3 running DD-WRT v23 12/25/05
firmware,
http://www.dd-wrt.com
and you CAN remap port numbers. It's not terribly clear in the
documentation:
http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.ph...ort_Forwarding
but it's hinted at:

http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.ph...g#Port_Mapping

Note: If you have a WRT54G v5, you cannot install alternative
firmware.
