I've been trying to get my WPC11 v4 card to work with wpa_supplicant,
with no success. Card does gets detected and loaded successfully.

My /etc/wpa_supplicant is:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1

network={
ssid="buell.net"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk="*****"
proto=WPA
}

The wireless router is set to use WPA-PSK with AES. What should I be
using?

The LinkSys WPC11 pccard is 802.11b, so you don't need wpa_supplicant
and you'll never get 802.11a or 802.11g to work on it.

LinkSys changed the chipsets from Prism/Intersil in the WPC11 after v3.
v4 is not supported by Linux.

You need an Intel card (supported by Linux in kernel) or an Atheros card
(supported with Mad WiFi modules).

I do need wpa_supplicant, to do the WPA-PSK AES thing which apparently
works just fine under Windows 2000/XP.

Yes, it uses the RTL8180 chipset; there's a driver for it.

Yes, I know, I ought to have used either of the two. Thanks anyway.
