Is it possible for a computer running windows 98SE to connect to a wireless
network secured by WPA? I have a Linksys wireless card and router that do
support this technology, but I cannot get the Win 98 machine to connect. I
keep getting a message saying that WPA is not supported by the operating
system. I was hoping that there was a patch or something that is available
to make this possible.

Windows 98SE doesn't (and will never) have built-in support for WPA.
Such support has to come from the wireless card manufacturer. I don't
know whether Linksys offers it.

Motorola has wireless networking gear with support for WPA on Win98SE.
I've tested the WR850G router, WN825G PC card, and WU830G USB adapter,
and they work very well. Here's a web site about them:

http://broadband.motorola.com/consum...networking.asp

I've seen the Motorola gear on sale at Target and Radio Shack, and you
can buy it online at that web site.

AFAIK Linksys provides a 3rd party WPA driver (which you have to buy) for
win2000 ...no mention of support for win98
