Allright, tring to set up at WPA network. Reason= alternative to WEP.
Have a Linksys WAP54G AP, WET56G Brdige, and a WMP11 (LInksys .11b
PCI card fro people who don't know) Everything has the latest
Firmware.

Set up AP to use a key using the WPA encription. Second, checked to
use TKIP. Installed the WPA patch from MS installed on a Win XP Pro
machine. After installed the wireless properties still does not give
the option for a WPA Key. It still askes for a WEP key. For sh**s and
giggles I tired the WPA key for the "WEP" key, and of coarse it didn't
work. I tried to set up the bridge to work on the netowrk and it
doesn't give me the option for WPA and it also asks for a WEP key.
But I'm not too worried about the bridge yet.

I know what your thinking, "This idiot has WEP configured and doesn't
even know it." WELL I guarantee that I have WPA set up. The link I
refered to was this one =

Are you sure the WMP11 supports WPA? I don't see any driver updates for it
that mention WPA support added. For WPA to work you need an AP that
supports it (which you have), a supplicant for the OS that supports it
(which you have) and a client that supports it (this is the iffy spot here).
What version of the WMP11 do you have?

Dude, I think your right, I believe I have the have the 2.7 version.
I see that there is a version 4 out there now. Crap, that sucks...

I havn't been able to try out my notebooks wireless cards yet cause
the HD died. I have a Orinico A/B/G Gold and a LInksys WPC11 ver 2.5.
I do not believe that the linksys PCMCIA card will work ether.
Thanks man.

The latest driver for the WPC11v4 enables WPA support. It will install on
the older versions as well as they all use Intersil Prism chipsets.

That should have been WPC11 v3, not 4.
