Does WPA (with Pre-Shared Key) work between two brands of a wireless
standard? In particular,
Orinoco 8480-xx (PC card) and D-Link DI-624 (router). Both will operate in a
channel of 802.11g and I will get the latest driver/firmware.

Yes, I got WPA with PSK to work with my Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI card
and my Linksys WRT54G router and access point. Both use the 802.11g standard.

Yes, I have an Orinoco Gold 11b/g card doing WPA to my Linksys
WRT54G.

Last I checked D-Link didn't yet support WPA..but if that's changed it
should work.

Actually the D-Link 624 (Rev C) model does support WPA. Supposedly the Rev
B does also. They have like 3 or 4 models of the 624.
