WPA and 802.11b

I am about to setup a home wireless network and I am
wondering if enabling WPA in the router will work with
802.11b clients?

I am thinking to use a PDA with 802.11b but in order to
do so, I am wondering if I will have to disable the WPA
in the router and only use WEP?

Thanks.

Dear JL,

Most 802.11b will not work with WPA encryption. Some
MSFT 802.11b devices may work with WPA. 128-bit WEP (104-
bit key plus 24-bit IVector) will no doubt work. Also
use MAC filtering, and change WEP keys periodically.

Most PDA's don't support WPA. You might want to setup a separate
network segment with a separate b access point for older clients that
can't use WPA.
