hi everyone i want to network two houses 2 KM apart, can someone tell me
the best way to do that, even with home-made equipment

I think more detail may be needed ... but cheapest way to connect 2 PCs
(with PCI slots) would be to use PCI Wifi cards... with external antennae
connected.

Assuming clear line of sight ....

After that it is the detail which will dictate the cost ... pigtail cable to
convert to N connector ... length of low loss cable from PC to Antenna...
fixing kit for antenna... etc etc

To maximise efficiency of the system, the cable run from antenna to card
should be as short as possible, and have as few joints as possible ...

It may be better to use external bridge units and connect the PCs to them
via CAT5 ethernet cable ... particularly if the houses already have wired
ethernet network installed.
