You have to be more specific, the "entire (civilized) world" is
HUGE!!!! And you MUST be talking about satellite access or it will
NEVER be done in our grandkids lifetimes!
Just for instance the US, where I live, is about 3,000 MILES wide!!!!!
That's ALOT of access places! Even cell phones don't go EVERYWHERE in
the US. Yes there are STILL towns where cell phones just don't work,
satellite phones yes, but not cell phones.
If you are talking about the major cities in the major countries of
the World, then give it 10 years and you should be able to find access
most places. I am NOT talking about internet cafes, I am talking about
just walking down the street and finding someplace that you can get in
thru. Now the availability of FREE access is a whole other story!
I believe that the current rate of offering free places will decline
unless companies/people find a way to make it profitable. The
equipment can be expensive and locking people out of certain areas
will be essential as well as anti-virus protection. Also I think that
people will not be able to get on as anonymously as they do now. They
will be REQUIRED to log in and what they do will be logged and they
will be held accountable for their destructive exploits. Free access
MAY remain but to a VERY limited degree, no files, no outgoing email,
etc., basically TO you access not FROM you access.
