I have a MSBBN Base Station MN-500 and sharing out a printer on a WinXP SP2
Home Ed. PC with shared printer is using a MSBBN USB wireless adapter
MN-510. Also in the mix is a Toshiba laptop using a built-in wireless
adapter and an HP desktop PC connecting to the MN-500 using a NIC and a CAT5
cable.
1. All PC's connected to MN-500 OK and able to get out to the Internet.
However, only the hard wired PC can see the all PC's and both wireless
clients can only see the hard wired PC. All clients getting Dynamic IP
Addresses.
2. Upstairs/downstairs setup will not allow for moving printer to hard wired
PC.
3. Upgraded firmware on MN-500 and MN-510.
4. Have full MSBBN utility installed on all PC's with SP2 update to utility
installed and wireless security on MN-500 set to off.
5. Have reset the TCP/IP stack on both wireless clients. Neither client can
ping 127.0.0.1 successfully, but both can ping their respective
192.168.2.xxx address fine, but that's it.
6. Simple file and print sharing enabled on all PC's. All PC's running
WinXP SP2 Home Ed.
7. Recently had issue with DHCP so set clients to static IP and could see
MN-500 fine, but no Internet connectivity. Tried using base station IP for
DNS and then WAN DNS IP's copied from MN-500 with no luck, but then
magically started working again.
Any suggestions? Are there compatibility issues with this MSBBN hardware
and SP2? Or is this a MS browsing issue?
Thanks in advance.
