Won't remember WEP key

My desktop would not remember the WEP key so I removed the D-link wireless
54g card from my desktop - XP with SP-2. Installed a 108 MB card, generic. It
worked great in another PC but this one still won't remember the WEP key
either. Must be a software problem? Help, pls.
