WMP54G and WAP54G can't find each other - any ideas?

Hi,

I recently purchased a WAP54G (linksys access point) and a WMP54G PCI card.
The access point is connected to a DI604 router/switch and I verified the
WAP54G was assigned an IP address via DHCP. I can access its setup via a
browser without a problem on my XP machine.

In another Win2K box is the WMP54G. It installed fine, but it can't find
the access point. Both have the exact same SSID. Encryption is turned off
and I've verified both are attempting to use the same channel. The WMP is
set for Infrastructure mode. They are about 10 feet apart but can't find
each other.

Linksys tech support had no idea and basically said take them back for a
refund.

Is this a common problem? Am I missing some key trick/setting?

The WMP PCI card shows up in device manager as working properly and the
utility reports it as active.

The WAP54G link light is lit yellow and I can see the activity light
blinking green.
