Unfortunately Linksys and Broadcom have not provided the drivers nor the
specifications to the UNIX or Linux community. Many, like myself have
offered to write drivers for these cards but Linksys and Broadcom have not
replied. This means drivers for Linksys/Broadcom products will take longer
until they are reverse engineered or their marketing departments wake up.
I would suggest UNIX/Linux/BSD users consult the supported OS hardware lists
before buying there wireless cards. Also visit the prospective vendors web
site and ask if there are drivers for you OS. Most cards with the Prizm
chip sets are quite well supported in many distributions.
But for those wanting 54g and don't mind drivers in the rough, the D-Link
AG650 has some promise, new and partially functional drivers can be found on
Sourceforge under the Madwifi project.
