WLAN VPN Authentication for Android

Has anyone tried to login to Uni Ulm's wireless welcome network using Android
over IPSec VPN, as described here for the iPhone?: http://kargl.net/iphone-vpn

I tried to copy this on Android, but I greatly failed. Android wants an user-
certificate and I don't know what it is.

If you don't know what a certificate is please do not start with Ipsec. First learn what
certificates are as they are a basic element of vpn security.
In short, what it is used for is a kind of strong password but based on a complete different
technolog. It is also being used when you go to a secure website.
