Hi,

Using ndiswrapper it at last seems like I have got linux talking to my SMC
card, but some problems remain.

iwlist wlan0 scan seems to list my accesspoint, so it looks like the card is
working and can see the base, but I am unable to get connected.

I suspected that it had something todo with ESSID; Whatever amount of
'iwconfig wlan0 essid 3Com' I do, 'iwconfig wlan0' continues to report
ESSID="". However, I have read that this will not change until the
connection is OK, so this might not be the root of the problem.

Also, while googling I came across someone that stated that the ESSID has to
be fed to ndiswrapper somehow, and that iwconfig will not do the trick, but
I did not find any specifics on how to acomplish this.

Anybody that has got the SMC2802 V2 PCI card working with Fedora Core 2 that
might have any hints on how to proceed?

/Trond

I go it to work now, by using ndiswrapper 0.7 instead of the latest (0.8).
