Hi everybody,

i would like to set up a wireless lan at home.

1) i presently have a laptop that runs rh 9, and win 2000. We have a
ppoe connection, which means that i have to dial up to get internet
access.

2) i plan to get another computer that will now be connected to the
internet and the laptop would be used to roam around the
house. This new computer would mostly be linux, and sometimes
windows.

i would like to know primarily what kind of hardware i need to achieve
this (hardware that works with linux) [a wlan card for the laptop, and
a wlan card for the computer, but how can i acheive it with a
ppoe]. Should i first connect it to the network manually, then
activate the wlan tranmitter in the computer or something like this
:-(

Can i have linux connected to the internet (through ppoe) and windows
in the laptop (people at home need windows :-)) and still roam around
with internet connection in the laptop.

Hope the explanation was ok,

With warm regards

karthik

i would recommended the belkin F5D6050 USB wlan card, with the drivers from
http://at76c503a.berlios.de/ in peer-to-peer mode.
