I have just built the following system.
Internal
1 x PC WinXP
1 x Laptop WinXP
1 x Dlink AP2000+ Access Point
All connect via a wired connection (the laptop can connect via WiFi) on a
10.x.x.x network into a Linksys Cable/DSL router (not a wireless one) that
has a 4 port 10/100 switch inbuilt. The DG of all machines is the routers
LAN interface.
I have placed another Dlink AP2000+ Access Point into the WAN port of the
router on a 192.168.x.x network with the DG of the router being set to the
address of the AP.
I can ping all devices on both sides of the router (both APs). I have this
external AP connected up to a 25DBi directional antenna that has LOS for
miles and miles and miles. I have place a gigercounter in front of the
antenna and it is bursting with EMR as one would expect.
I have placed the router into the network as it does NAT as well as plenty
of other cool firewall things.
Can anybody see a problem with this.
My trouble is I cant find a bloody thing. No other networks. Now I can find
plenty of software apps for a PCI or PCMCIA WiFi nics but not for scanning
for a WiFi connection off an AP.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Anthony
