WLAN across several buildings?

I have taken on a Wireless Networking Project that is getting the best of me.
I am looking for some advice on how to create a WLAN for several cabins at a
Fly Fishing Lodge in Montana.

Here is what I need to accomplish:

The Lodge has 10 physical buildings.

1 - Office with Pro Shop

1 - Kitchen building with Dining area (20 feet from office)

1 - Lodge Building for cocktails (60 feet from office)

7 - Cabins (100 feet apart from each other and Cabin one is 40 feet from the
Lodge building)

The Office has a one DSL line coming into the building. I'm using a Linksys
WRT54GS Router off the DSL modem to provide an Ethernet connection to one
Desktop Computer and a wireless connection to an additional Desktop Computer
in another room in the office. I am trying to provide additional wireless
internet connection for my clients in each of the cabins and the Lodge
Building without running cables.

Here is what I have tried:

I had heard great things about the Linksys WRE54G Range Expanders and was
hoping to just chain them along to all 8 buildings. I originally bought 2
WRE54G Range Expanders since they are 'Marketed' as providing 300 yards of
coverage. I placed the first Range Expander in the Lodge and thought I could
place the second one in Cabin four. However, each cabin has metal roofs so
the signal was too weak. I then bought 6 more WRE54G Range Expanders with the
hopes of placing one in each cabin. After a NIGHTMARE experience with Linksys
support and several wasted weekends I came to the realization that this isn't
going to work. At first I purchased 8 'Version 1' models of the WRE54G
Expanders and was unable to get them configured. I then (per Linksys advice)
sent them all back for 8 new 'Version 2' models which have an Ethernet port
on them for easy configuration directly from the Router. I was able to
configure all 8 WRE's and started placing them in their locations. After I
got past Cabin one, I could no longer receive an Internet feed. As it turns
out, the signal was being so chopped up as it went through each WRE54G Range
Expander that after two buildings there was nothing left. Of course Linksys
never mentioned my design was flawed from the outset after LONG hours/days on
the phone with Tech support.

Outside of digging trenches through the property and affixing Access Points
into each building, are there any other solutions available without having to
use any wiring?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Is thier a central location that is between all buildings.
Or
External 7db gain aeriels will give some greater range ie 20<>30 M.
Their are signal boosters that will increase router transmition range but pc
may or maynot transmitt the greater distance.

You could try some simple reflectors

I'm using IOGEAR HomePlug powerline ethernet bridge and they work great.
Just like a wired connection. Might be a good option for the OP
