I've got to work on a Compaq/HP WL510 AP which I didn't install. I used the
AP manager to scan for AP's in range. I used the Change button to look at
some basic setup parameters. I saw that the IP address of the AP in question
was 192.168.64.12. Its gateway entry was 192.168.64.12. BUT, all other AP's
have a correct Gateway entry of 192.168.64.2. It may be a typo by the person
who set it up.
However, I do know that one of the AP's (and it may be this one becasue they
were never labelled!!) has both an AP and Bridge mode card in it. Could it
be that the Gateway entry 192.168.64.12 is really stating that this card
forwards packets to itself or its partner. Is this how you setup a bridge
mode? What I do know is that one AP point is losing packets and I suspect
the Gateway entry in this 192.168.64.12 card.
I can't see in the AP manager sofwtware how you setup Bridge mode instead of
AP mode.
Also, can I use a Web Browser to see more details and setup the AP rather
than the AP manager - which seems a bit thin on parameters.
Thanks
Stu
