Hi All,

I don't know if this question was asked before, but i'm wondering if a
Wireless repeater is needed for my specific case.

I have a wirless router (Netgear) at one end of the house.
On the other end i have two PCs.
1. the first PC Can find the weak signal and still access the
internet
2. the second is unable to find any signal except the PC that is next
to it.

Is it possible to use the first PC as a bridge so that the second PC
can access internet.
I cannot bridge connections on the second PC because i have only one
network connection. (which has the firewall disconnected).

Any cheap solutions in order to have both PCs connected to the
internet?
Also, are there differences in the PCMCIA Wireless cards? Is there one
you suggest (pesently the netgear 802.11g is the one that cannot find
the router )

Thx for all the info

One problem is that the stock antenna on the router "at one end of the
house" is sending most of its signal to your neighbors. You need an antenna
configuration that will focus the rf energy where you need it.

the orinoco gold card definitely outperforms the netgear card: I traded the latter in for the former
for the same reason as you. find one on ebay. 2nd best option is to make yourself a parabolic
reflector. they work, and they cost nothing except the time it takes you to reasearch and make one.
