I recently purchased a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
(WRT54G-CA) and I can't get it to work properly. As far as I can tell
everything is hooked up correctly. The modem (Cisco 675) is
communicating with the router and the router is communicating wiht the
computer. I can ping external websites using the IP numbers but not
the DNS. INternet explorer does not work with DNS addressesses. The
router is hooked directly to the computer and my operating system is
WInME. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

What do you have set for your DNS server? That seems to be the problem.

The html control page has 2 setups for your wireless router, one for
downstream static or DHCP setup of clients, but you also have an
upstream or as Belkin calls it "global" connection which you should
set to "obtain config automatically" most ISPs require this anyhow and
you might have found yourself without any connection next time your
ISP lease timed out -My guess is you are presently static and the
broadband IP hasn't updated yet but the router never got a current
copy of the DNS addresses -I think they are also delivered DHCP even
though they ushually seem to remain unchanged from Comcast. You will
also need to do a ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew from dos
prompt or reboot to get DNS back on the job. Yes I have been there!
