Hi, I'm new to the forums. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with XP MCE 2005. My
Intel wireles card won't connect to my Linksys 2.4 ghz Wireless-G broadband
nrouter, but it worked fine yesterday. Now, I'm one of those genius-types,
but I still don't see why this won't work. It says that my computer will not
connect and that to make sure my "Wireless switch" is turned on. I do not
know where this "wireless switch" would be, but I have the wireless network
enabled in my network connections, I recently did a virus and spyware scan to
see if that was the problem, which it wasn't, (if anyone wants to know I have
the latest McAffee) and the only way to connect to the internet is through a
direct connection with a network cable. but in the process I need to unplug
my eMac and it takes forever to shut down. Anyone know how I can fix this?

There could be a switch or set of hot keys that can turn your hardware on
and off. My dell has a double key function where I hold the FN key on the
lower left, then tap the key across the top that has the icon of a wireless
signal.
Sometimes I find that I need to reset everything by unplugging my cable
modem, router and turning off all my computers, then plug back in the modem,
router and turn the computers back on (in that order) to get everything
connected again.
Then you need to be sure you don't have a firewall that might be blocking
one of your connections. You say it was connected, so I assume that you have
verified that all your computers have different names and are set up to use
the same network. (system properties.. you can right click on the icon "my
computer" and click the properties to find your computer name and assigned
network)

Hi,
I had the same problem. What you need to do is turn every program that you
are running off. The hold down the Fn (Its a blue key at the bottem) and the
F2 button, for about 3 seconds. Hopefuly that should work.
