I see in winXP that I can pc-to-pc network with wireless. I own 2
notebooks. One has 802.11b and one 802.11g built-in wireless network
adapters.

I can't seem to get the to to connect.

I understand that g will "slow down" to accomodate b. Any advice
appreciated.

Regards

You need them both set in "Ad Hoc" mode (rather than "Infrastructure" mode
and using the same wireless channel and SSID/network name.

Conor,

Thanx for the link.

I applied all that she mentioned on her page, but my two network cards just
don't appear to be "seeing" one another. The PCs are about 2 feet apart, so
distance isn't the issue, and they are both definately active, since they
both have the X in red, and I did step-by-step what Bev mentioned, but to no
avail.

The "host PC is using an Intel PRO wireless lan 2100 3B Mini PCI adapter and
the other PC is using a 2200BG Network connection.

The host is using XP Home and the client XP Pro. The G adapter is
definately set to work in both G and B formats/speeds.

Any other help, please?

Have done so, and read article that Conor suggested. Still no joy.

According to article, I should set up the host with a SSID etc, and then the
client will indicate this as an available network. Client is not "seeing"
host.

How do I set to the same channel? Can't find such an option.

Thanx
Riaan

You need to do that in the "properties" of the network card.

Go to

http://www.pctel.com/prodSeg.html

Download the Segue Roaming client and see if that makes life easier.
