Hi there. Reasonably new at this...

Have a wireless notebook that joins the network via a wireless card on a
linux box which in turn has a network card joined to a ADSL modem/router.

Am connecting OK but when browsing the network on the notebook [winxp]
both the wireless interfaces drop their speed to 1Mb/sec from a starting
point of 11Mb/sec. The devices are about 1metre apart [testing
purposes] so it's not a range issue.

When I connect the notebook to the linux pc wirelessly but direct
(without using a bridge) the speed is fine (expect the internet is
doesn't work). The bridge defintly ties it all together and makes it
work but it's so damn slow :-) !!!

Is there something in the Linux bridge that may do this [the speed
drop]? or have I possible made a configuration blunder.

Let me know if you need further information in order to help me out.

Peter
