Maybe someone has an idea how to correct this strange condition. I installed
a Zonet wireless usb2 adapter on my computer to use with my Linksys B
wireless router. It's external antenna is fantastic and the range increased
appreciably. However, a strange thing occurs every time I shut the computer
down and restart. It restarts at 11 mbps, rather than the normal 54 mbps. I
found I could pull the case out, unplug the usb cable, plug it back in and
it returns to 54 mbps. It's really no big deal and I can (if I have to) live
with it but I would sure like to find a correction.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks, Dan

Hi
You indicated Linksys B router, 802.11b does only 11Mb/sec.
In addition, your computer's USB port has to be USB2 otherwise the USB Wireless will
work at 11Mb/sec.

Oops! Glad you noticed that, Jack. Actually, it's a G-router and it is
connected to a usb-2 card. I tried watching the connection for a while and
it stayed at 11mbps. I also tried reconnecting and it stayed at 11mbps. The
only thing that gets it back to 54mbps is to unplug the usb wire at the card
and re-insert it. Voila! Again 54 mbps!

Oh well. Guess I'm the only one with this condition.

Thanks, Dan
