I have a linksys wireless usb adapter installed on a
windows 98se machine. There are no driver/irq conflicts
in device manager. There is plenty of signal from the
router. When I try to pull an IP adress I keep getting
the windows default for no DHCP (169.xxx.xx.xx). the
router is straight out of the box with all factory
defaults set. the computer that's hardwired has no
problems can access the internet with no problem. Any
Ideas??

Does the USB adapter's configuration utility show that it has a
connection to the wireless router?

Do the USB adapter and the wireless router have identical WEP
encryption settings?
