I had to re-install Windows XP on my hard drive. Started to run system and
needed to re-establish wireless connection. Went to Control Panel -clicked
network Icon - double clicked "set up a small network" etc. Does not
respond except says that I don't have hardware.

Does not recognize LINKSYS - 2.4 Gig wireless adapter installed on USB.
My system would connect to the "net" through the server which is in the same
room. Looked for driver info on install disk on Linksys - but disk is for
"main" unit does not help. The Model number is WRT54G.

Following the instruction manual that came with the unit for set up of
"other" pcs - cannot connect because no wireless system "shown"

Wha am I doing incorrectly.
Thanks Ron A.

After you install an operating system, you then need to install the drivers
for your hardware. If you didn't do this, please do so now. In addition,
make sure you have installed Service Pack 2 and subsequent Windows Updates.

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer
(HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model
machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor. The older Aida32 is good for this, too.

UPDATE: The solution to suggested worked - I did go to various web sites
to download new drivers (luckily I had other connected computers around).
The drivers were downloaded and the hardware conflicts were corrected.

Thanks for your help.
