one of my family members has a storage location about a mile from his
house. he keeps some items of fairly high value there, and is
interested in installing a security system of some sort. he is
interested in using wi-fi if possible, and asked me to look into it.
there is no internet access on-site, but there is a chance that a
computer could be set up to host a security camera and other
equipment. does anyone have any suggestions? i think the main issue is
extending the range of his network at his house. does anybody have
suggestions for a low-cost method that could provide basic monitoring
functions (probably video, and some way to notify him by phone or
otherwise of a possible intruder) for the site?
