wireless routers drop internet connection

I've tried two N class routers - Linksys and Belkin. It happens
simultaneously on two laptops with different wireless adapters. If I
wait a few minutes, it reconnects. The laptops remain connected to the
router when it happens - just the internet connection is lost. The
desktop that is connected to the router through an Ethernet cable never
loses its connection to the internet. Signal strength from the router is
good. I've tried different channels with both routers and it doesn't
help.
