Which of the 802.11g routers (from the likes of Buffalo, D-Link, Linksys and
Netgear) support WPA (or which do not) and for the ones that do not, is it
likely a firmware upgrade at some point in the future will enable it ?

Thanks,

Colin

I have a 3com 11g Gateway (router) and it suppports WPA. And yes, about the
firmware, email a question to the manufacturers. I think some may and some
may not be able ti include WPA in future firmware. (I may be wrong)

So far for D-Link these are supported (you have to get the
new firmware from their web site though) -

DI-624 Router
DI-774 Router
DWL-G520 PCI card
DWL-G650 PCMCIA card
DWL-2000AP Access Point

These are their main 802.11g products.

That'd be all the rest of D-Link's gear, for now.

D-Link told me they are planning a "B Plus" upgrade for the 802.11b stuff.
But they will not say when, yet anyway...

Belkin F5D7130 54g Access Point has WPA support including Radius
Autenticaton option. You need to upgrade firmware to version 2 from
Belkin website

What's the model number, and how do you like it? Been looking at
them, but CNET says the 3Coms are difficult to set up, and support
sucks.

My 3COM is not that bad, but there are some issues...

2 big concrete walls preventing the signal going through ;-(

disconnects from time to time.... (waiting for the next firmware update...)

But for 60 Euro's (11g router/firewall and PCcard) it's doing fine.

I still have to check if WPA works (now using WEP 128 and MAC-list)
