Wireless Routers and Business Critical Applications

Is it possible to run a business critical application on a wireless network?

Need a solution that would be able to perform a least 100 transactions to a
SQL server per hour.
At a range of approx 150 meters or 500 feet.

If so, is there a specific router that would be best suited for the task?

Aside from security issues is there anything else I should be worried about
or pay close attention when trying to setup this type of configuration?

Thanks to everyone that replies.

Rob
