I have an NTL cable box that I want to make wireless. Can anyone suggest a
netgear router that would do the job?

What is that supposed to mean?

If you want a wireless router suitable for an NTL cable connection, anything
with an Ethernet WAN port should do the job.

A visit to ANY computer shop or computer retailer website will reveal lots
of them, it's up to you to make a decision on what features you want or
which looks nicer.

as you specify Netgear, why not use their configurator
http://www.netgear.co.uk/home_product_configurator.php

it concludes a

if I guess at your kit

I bought a Netgear WGT624 via an ebay shop ( digidave) for about £30.
Works fine and easy to install

I use a Linksys WRT54G WiFi AP/router (v2) connected to my ntl SACM. This
runs a 3rd party firmware (DD-WRT; this is the beauty of the WRT54G series).

A second WRT54G (v1) router at the other end of my house also runs DD-WRT.
Running in WDS mode the pair of routers communicate with each other and
extend the WiFi coverage throughout my property.

I have a PS2 cabled to router2 at the back of my house and I have a PS2
cabled to a PC upstairs which ICS shares the PC's WiFi connection (to the
router2, due to proximity).

I also have some hardware cabled to router1 which also figures on the
network.

I have a 1Mbps pipe from ntl, and this setup works great.

The Linksys WRT54G comes in numerous versions:
http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.p...showpage&pid=6

The beauty of this router is that its firmware is Linux based, and is
therefore open to 3rd party revision (e.g. DD-WRT) thus offering
improvements over the stock Linksys f/w.

HTH.

Hmmm - link seems dodgy, don't know why. Version info is also here:
http://www.wrt54g.net/pages.php?p=guide_version

Avoid version 5 routers...
