Wireless router mn-700

My router and my hard wired computer connects to the
internet, but in the Network Utility it shows as not
connected and can't upgrade my base station.

Also,
My wirless computer that is approximately 50 feet away,
has a very difficult time connecting during the morning
hours and than at night it has a very week connection. But
when right next to the router the connection is excellent.
Please advise.

If it connects to the internet, then you're good to go.
What's your place made of? steel and concrete?
move to a smaller wood constructed place.
