Wireless Router booting up Desktop PC

I tried to set up a 'network' via wireless so that I could hopefully
work on my laptop and then use the printer attached to my desktop PC
in another room. I used the Network wizard but it failed to work,
as it has done when I have tried before. I have XP Home on my
laptop and W98SE on my desktop PC. Since trying and failing I have
gone into the room with the PC in only to find that it was turned
on!! It was only today that I suspected for some reason my wireless
router was turning the PC on, as I had powered the router down due
to a thunderstorm only to find when I plugged it back the PC booted
up. Also something strange has happened when browsing I have now
found that font on web pages is now much larger and therefore when I
have printed pages out that is in much larger font. Word documents
etc print out as normal it has only affected Web Pages, I have no
idea what has altered that!!
I would be very grateful for any advice/help.
Lynn

You might try going to | View | Text Size | and adjusting the text setting
here, for Internet Explorer. My experience has been that mostly the web site
controls how the pages display. If Internet Explorer over rides the web site
then generally the pages do not display correctly.

You may find these links of some help;

If that doesn't work for you, here is an excellent network
troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it
and it will usually pinpoint the problem area(s) -

Simple File Sharing means that Guest (network) is enabled. This means
that anyone without a user account on the target system can use its
resources. This is a security hole but only you can decide if it
matters in your situation.
