type in 'ipconfig /all' (no quotes)

Go to the Network icon and set up the Gateway to the IP number of your
router (usually 192.168.1.1).

Is this the ipconfig for your Dell PC? If so, the addresses look as
though this PC has been connected directly to the cable modem before
the Belkin router was introduced. I would have expected the router to
NAT the valid addresses and give you a 192.168.0.x address for your
PC.

A have a Netgear router attached to NTL Broadband and the valid
addresses are all allocated to the router. My pc(s) are given 192.168
DHCP addresses.

Check that your PC is configured to use DHCP on the TCP/IP settings
associated with the ethernet connection to the router, and then
reboot.

Pete
