Wireless router and AP

Hi All,

Until last week I had the following situation:
Laptop -> AP (bridge) -> Hub -> Firewall (machine with firewall)
....and all worked fine...

Now I got myself a wireless-router, but still want to use the AP to get
better coverage troughout the house. And ofcourse I'm getting rid of the
hub, because the router has a build in switch:
So the new setup would be:
Laptop -> AP (bridge) -> Wireless Router

Now is the weird situation:
Ping Laptop -> AP = OK
Ping Wireless Router (or machine on the router./switch) -> AP = OK
Ping Laptop -> Machine on router/switch, or route itself -> NOT
OK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems like the bridge isn't functioning as it should be....... The weird
thing is the laptop does get a DHCP address..... (from the router!!!!!!)

Could have something to do with the configuration of the channels? Currently
I configured AP and router on the same ESSID and the same channel.

Any ideas on this????

Thanks allot

Cheers,
Sjoerd

Are the AP and router connected with a cable? If not, your AP needs
to support repeating, not just bridging.

The AP is connected with the router with a cable.

I even tried the following: telnet to the AP, and ping both sides (to the
laptop and to the router)..... all works. ping from laptop to router = no go
