I just bought a Vtech 5.8 ghz phone and I'm planning to get a
wireless/wired router. Will the Vtech phone interfere with the router
signal or vice versa? Please help.

Some people say yes, some people say no. I have a 2.4ghz wireless
router and have refused to buy any 2.4ghz phones. Everything works
fine for me.

Some 5.8Ghz phones apparently use 2.4Ghz for some aspects of their operation
(perhaps station to station?) and they may cause interference - or so it has
been scribed elsewhere. Generally though, I believe 5.8Ghz phones operate at
a frequency that will not interfere with wireless modems.

My phones just connect to one station as I don't see little antennas on
the secondary station. Anyways, is there any way to tell if a router is
5.8 ghz or 2.8 ghz because the packaging does not really tell.

My D-Link WBR 2310 gives these details in the manual.
It operates on the 2.4 ghz frequency, as do my Panasonic cordless phones (as
well as several ceiling fans and remote light switches, probably).

There appears to be no interference to the router - it operates identicaal to
its previous non-wireless type.

HTH!
Happy New Year!

I just found out about channels so I'll just play with the channels on
the router and get a working channel.
Thank you anyone who helped me on this,
sammy
