Hi,

I've a wireless access point (NetGear WG602) and it
runs properly with a XP computer on 11 MBit,
using WEP 128 bit.

Now I've attached a Windows Me with the MA311 PCI
adapter. The driver shows me the network (SSID), the
right channel and approx. 65% signal level.

Then it start scanning and it cannot find the AP in
infrastructure mode. The list of present WLANs shows
me my WLAN in infrastructure mode, which is correct
because other PCs in the LAN use it already. But my
WinME box does not...

For curiousity: If I switch to Ad-Hoc-Mode (on the
ME box, in the netgear standard configuration software),
the scanner stops and shows me access point, but never
establish a valid connection (so far correct, because
the AP still builds a infrastructure network).

Has anybody seen this behavior before? Is a signal level
of about 60% enough to establish a connection? What
strategy to solve the problem (newest drivers are already
running here)?

Thanks,

-Joerg

After a few testing: Without encryption it works,
but with other operating systems and with encryption
it works, too.

Anything wrong in ME that does it not work with WEP?
