Wireless problem, HELP

I just setup a Belkin wireless router, now I do not have a DSL external
modem, it is a standard phone connected internal modem. So what I was told
to do from Belkin was to disable the DHCP server in the router so it will
stop issuing IP addresses. So that ultimately I can use my wireless card
with my laptop.....But it appears to connect from my laptop, but will not
get a response back from the Belkin, which runs to our internet machine
running WinME, another wired machine runs XP and the laptop is XP.

Any suggestions?, You can write me direct if you want, as I don't check this
as often. At (E-Mail Removed)

Thanks,
Jim N.
