Wireless pci card - screw on or cable antenna?

Hi,

I am about to buy a wireleess 802.g pci card for my PC. I noticed that
some of these cards have a screw on attena while others have an
antenna which is connected to a cable, the cable in turn being plugged
into the PCI card. Which is better? I supposed the cable means that I
can put the antenna in a number of places but having a screw on might
be more space efficient. Or is it that the more recent one will have a
better pickup anyway.

I have a linksys wireless router but two linksys wireless pci cards
failed so I ain't using linksys again. Instead I am thinking of going
with netgear or d-link.

We have one that has the external antenna which is connected to the
PCI card via a cable and the reception is really good. The main thing
here is that the interference from the PC itself won't interfere with
the WIFI signal.
