Wireless packed up?

Is there a way of testing if a router is transmitting?

Netgear DG834G has the "wireless" light on and the Ethernet light blinks but
now other devices do not see it.
(Another wireless PC and Media player)
It was working a short while ago when I connected to my Media Player but
now - nothing.
Rebooted several times.
Tried re-setting access control off.
It pings OK so card to router must be OK (?)
Reset it to default and re-entered settings. Still nothing

I'm trying to use it just for WEP networking not ADSL.
