Wireless novice with XBox

Hi All,
I'm pretty new to networking and I'm looking for advice.
I need to buy the correct bit of kit to give my XBox access to the internet.

My cable modem (from NTL) is upstairs and connected to my desktop PC (Window
XP) via Ethernet.
The desktop PC also has a wireless card (D-Link 802.11b 22Mbps). I have set
up Internet Connection Sharing.

Downstairs, I have a laptop and the XBox.
My laptop has a wireless card and works fine on the network (ad-hoc mode),
I'm able to access the internet on the laptop without problems.

So how do I give my XBox Internet access as well?
If I were to buy an Access Point and place it downstairs (connected via
Ethernet to XBox) would it do the trick, or do I need to buy a 'wireless
bridge'?

Any advice or links to useful websites will be greatly appreciated.

I have the following setup: (fixed width font time!)

PC 1 .
NTL | . Netgear
cable modem-- router -----3Com WAP . . . . . . Wireless
& switch Bridge

PC 2 |
PC 3--(wired)Hub--Xbox
|
PS2

The --- and | are wired links, the . . . are wireless. The right "half" of
the diagram is downstairs, and the left "half" up. Everything can get on the
internet, and see each other.
