Wireless novice

Just purchased a Wireless-G base station MN-700, and I
can get internet connection through my Laptop, but no
connection thru my desktop. I thought the point of this
product was to have multiple computers on one internet
connection? And if this is a wireless setup, why does it
not work unless you use ethernet wiring? Just curious.

Is your wired computer on the network?

on the wired computer, if you type ipconfig /all at the command prompt, what
is the ip address assigned to your ethernet connection?

Probably you have the thing misconfigured. How did you
install the wireless on the wireless computer? Are you
using a MS wireless card on the wireless computer? Is it
a 802.11b or g card?
