Wireless notebook to wired printer issue.

Hi,

I have a lexmark printer connected to a network via it's own nic card.
I can print to it from any physically connected computer running 98 or xp
I USED to be able to print to it wirelessly.
If I connect any of the wireless laptops to the router by their wired nic, I
can print.
The lexmark discovery software can find the printer weather I am connected
via the laptops wired or wireless nic.
This used to work.
It seems as though my DLINK 624 since upgrading to firmware 2.76 is blocking
communication from the printer back to the wireless laptop which causes the
lexmark printing software to tell me that "the printer can not communicate
with the computer"
Any ideas on router settings which could cause this?
It shouldn't be related to the firewall or antivirus (Symantec corporate)
running on the laptop, since the settings are the same for the wireless nic
and the wired nic.

I am not familiar with the D-Link per-se, but if you are using Network
Printer make sure that you are giving it a Static IP.
Updating firmware might changed the IP that is assigned to the printer is it
is dome by the DHCP.

Thanks for the reply.
IP is static and is fine. If the laptop is connected thru rj45, printings fine
If it's connected thru wireless, printing doesn't work.
All other network functions (surfing,file sharing, etc) work just fine while
wired or wireless.
This is why is seems as though the dlink is not passing some traffic to the
wireless device which is needed for the handshake between the laptop and the
printer.

Hi
If you still have the previous firmware (or it is available on D-Link
support's site) try to downgrade the firmware and see what happens. The 624
is rather an old unit it should be trouble free by now.

I figured it out.
The problem lies in the wpa-psk tkip implimentation by dlink on their DI-624
routers.
My wireless device can connect to the net or any other machine, but not
print to the wired printer.
I piggybacked a dlink DI-634M that I had lying around as a wireless hub onto
the network. Now my laptop can print wirelessley through the 634M (using
wpa-psk tkip) just fine.

Poor implimentation of wpa-psk tkip on the 624 routers!!!!!
