What's required to log onto a network? I'm looking to buy a laptop and
get free internet in my city's free wireless area. So I would like to
to what specific accessories, peripherals, etc. I need for my laptop?

I do not know anything about networks or computers for that matter, so
any help is great.

Centrino or at least a notebook with a WiFi card fitted
