Wireless networking...works fine until I reboot!

I've got a Dell laptop running ME. I'm using a Netgear
wireless router, (which works perfectly with my work
laptop running XP and a wireless orinoco card), and a
Netgear wireless card (though I've tried an Orinoco with
the same disasterous results). I can install and operate
the card and software, but as soon as I reboot, windows
explorer freaks out and shuts down. Then every internet
application, (AIM, etc.), has an error and shuts down as
well. From then on, no internet connection. In fact, I
have to do a sys restore just to become operable again.
My wife's desktop has had similar problems with a wireless
Linksys USB adaper. Works fine until reboot...
What's going wrong when we reboot???

When you say "reboot" do you mean a hot "reboot" or one from a cold start.
This sounds like a problem I had with a PCMICA NIC. In my case, I had to
change
to an earlier version of the PCMICA NIC.

When all was said and done, It turned out that most of my problems were due
to
Compatability issues with the default network settings of ME.

I mean a hot reboot, I think. when ever I have to end my
initial session after installing the software and
hardware, the next time I start up, my errors occur. I
tried 2 different wireless cards with 2 different drivers
and had the same result with both.
