I purchased a Belkin wireless router so that I could
network my desk top computer (Windows ME) with my lap top
computer (Windows XP)and to be able to go online with both
computers at the same time. The router system works
fine. I am able to get on the internet with the lap top
computer. The modem and router are attached to my desk
top computer and the laptop computer is connected to the
wirless USB network adapter.
With the help of
www.homenethelp.com I was able to install
the proper settings in the lap top computer to be able to
communicate with the desktop computer. However when I
followed the same instructions with the desk top computer
the software would not let me continue past the choice
(Windows 98/Windows ME with the router and cable modem
attached). It did say soon after that choice. Does that
mean that microsoft will soon allow that choice to be made?
At this point I am still unable to communicate between the
two computers.
Does any one know how to get around this dilemma? Both my
family and I are chomping at the bit to be able to network
the two computers and we would really appreciate any help
or insight that can be provided.
