Hi all

I'm dipping my toe into the WIFI sea, oh dear!

I've got a desktop PC running XP Home SP1 with a wireless broadband
router/switch and ADSL modem through which I can successfully connect to
the Internet.

I've also got an IBM laptop with a cardbus dual band wireless adapter that
tells me it can see the router.

But I can't browse the network on my XP desktop machine.

I am using KPF 2.1.5 as a firewall, I don't think this is the problem...

I've tried all I can think of without success.

Can anyone offer me any step by step suggestion as to how I can get my
laptop connected to the PC?

TIA

Best regards
Barry

Have a go at this lot here:

I ended up resorting to creating a shortcut on the desktop with "\\IP
address of other machine" in the Run box.

If you're not on somebody's shit list, you're not doing anything
worthwhile.

Seems to have been a Firewall problem, I use Kerio and have changed/added a
few rules.

I've got my ADSL connection OK over the wireless network and I can now
connect to my Windows 98 Laptop from my Desktop XP home PC, but I still
can't connect to my XP shared folder from my laptop.

I'll keep persevering...
