hi

I want to connect 3 computers to the internet. i do not have a network
at the moment. i would like to setup a wireless network and i am
looking for a router/access point to which i can connect a dialup
modem as i don't have broadband presently. i would also like the
router to have a print server (usb port preferably).

i have been able to track two products, the dlink 713P and another
from SMC but both of them seem to be end of life products and no
longer available.

I would appreciate recommendations for any product available that will
serve my purpose or other work arounds.

Thank you.

ash

You should be able to use a router that has an rs232 connection and do a
dial-up. But you'll have to look for that router. Some of them are
cable/dial-up ready. I think SMC has a one like that and it may be the
counterpart of the wireless version you mention.

You can get a wireless AP and plug it into the router

The Apple Airport is fully wifi compatible and has an ethernet connection
and standard modem for the network connection side.

USR 8000-02 does router, dialup and print server. You'd need a
separate AP tho. Personally I believe this is a safer way to go anyway
- if the combined unit died, you'd need to replace the entire thing.
AFAIR the Apple Airport does all three, but its rather pricey.
