I have a wireless network already established (Linksys router, wired
connection to main pc, 2 wireless laptops enabled). Trying now to connect
another desktop using a Linksys PCI-G wireless adapter.
Software installed OK, adapter installed OK.....
On rebooting, message appears: System can't find msnp32.dll, so won't be
able to run Microsoft Networking. Dunno what happened, but anyway got a
copy of msnp32.dll & pasted it into C\Windows\system (where it shoudl be),
but still getthe error message on boot-up.

On top of that, having configured the adapter t recognise the home network,
and ensured the router sees the adapter's MAC address, it's just not
connetcing; moreover PC-cillin's wi-fi detection facility on the main pc
isn't detecting the new adapter. Ihave unistalled & reinstalled but still
the same.

Any thoughts appreciated.

For the msnp32.dll issue try and remove and reinstall the Client for
Microsoft Networks using the Network tool in Control Panel.

what operating system are you running XP/2000 etc

as for the other problem, are you using MAC authentication on your
router - are you using WEP

any error messages in the event viewer..

Running 98SE on main pc & the desktop pc where I'm trying to install the
Wireless card.

On the router I've set it up so it will only let known MAC addresses access
the network - I have entered the MAC address shown by the new wireless card
as one that should be 'allowed'; using WEP 128-bit on all machines.

Event viewer - er, don't know what that is....
