I have the Microsoft Wireless Base Station MN-500 and am
trying to load the software for the MN-510, the Wireless
USB Adapter, onto a second computer. When I insert the
CD for the 510, it shows a window saying that "The color
display is incorrect. Setup requires a minimum setting
of 16 bits or greater. To change the color setting,
click the Display icon in Control Panel." When I check,
it shows 16 colors on the setting in display. The
computer has Win98 and everything else works fine. How
can I load the software to set up the wireless adapter?
The base station computer works great, as well as a
notebook with the MN-520 card. Thanks.

Click the drop-down arrow next to 16 colors and see if you have any
other options. If not, then you need to install the display adaptor
drivers in order to achieve 16bit, 24bit or 32 bit color. If your
display adaptor is an add-in card, you can usually tell from the
chipset which manufacturer and model you have...if it is built on the
motherboard, you need to go to the motherboard maker's website or use
the CD that came with the system for the drivers.

Good Luck...
